Salerno was the first city I visited in this trip. From Qatar, by Lufthansa, I arrived in Napoli, Italy after transfer at Munich, Germany. From Napoli, I took about 1-hour train (about 4 euros) to Salerno.
Salerno was a clean and nice little town, south of Napoli. The purpose was to visit my Turkish friend, Caglar, who was there for an exchange program (Erasmus).
Actually I didn't have time to explore the city. I stayed in Caglar apartment, a large renovated apartment where he shared with 4 other students. He showed me around the city at night.
I encountered a lot of foreigners, especially from eastern Europe working there.
The city was also a hub to travel Amalfi coast to the north, and many interesting destination to the south.
