Mexican Hostels

It was nice to stay in a hostel in Mexico because:
- cheap and many of them were centrally located
- many of them were stylish and clean
- chance to meet other travelers
- easy access to day trips
- wifi connection
- travel information and city maps

During my travel in Mexico, I stayed in 5 hostels in different cities below.
1. Hostel Mundo Joven in Cancun. HI affiliated. USD 15 per bed per night. One of my favourite hostel because the location was convenient, near the bus terminal and commercial centers. It was new and clean and quite stylish. There was even a jacuzzi on the roof top. The bathroom and the toilet were inside the room, and the room was quite large for 8 beds. The breakfast was on the rooftop where free computers and hammock were also located. Good place to meet with other travelers.
2. Hostel Mayan in Cancun. USD 15 per bed per night. It was a unique hostel, because the hostel was a converted stalls in a shopping mall called Mayan Plaza in Hotel Zone. The location was charming in the Hotel Zone where expensive big hotels were located. And it was near the beautiful beach of Cancun and near famous night clubs.
3. Hostel Lit in Guadalajara. Surprisingly HI affiliated. Pesos 150 per bed per night. The location was good. The living room and the bed room were stylish. But the bathroom and the toilets were outside.
It was recommended by the staff of Hostel Mundo Joven in Cancun.
The hostel was an old colonial building, renovated and converted to a stylish but cheap hostel.
4. Hostel Guanajuato. Even though the location was good, and cheap (100 pesos), the room was small and the bathroom and the toilet were outside. Overall, I couldn't recommended this place.
5. Hostel Cathedral Mundo Joven in Mexico City. USD 15 per night per bed. The location was perfectly just behind the famous and central Cathedral. The room was new and clean, the bathroom and the toilet were inside the room. The food at breakfast was great, and the breakfast was on the roof top with amazing view of the Cathedral and the old city.
